Anniversary
November 12, 2007 is the 41st anniversary of the death of Major John H. Gallagher. From what I have recently learned about Major Gallagher, he was a Marine’s Marine, but more importantly a devoted husband, brother and father.
President Ronald Reagan once said of the Marines, “Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don’t have that problem.” Major Gallagher made a difference. He made the ultimate sacrifice.
The loss of his life diminishes us all. But his memory and his spirit can live on in those who knew him and loved him. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. They leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. I will never forget Major Gallagher and will keep his memory alive.
