Englishwoman working for MIA's
. . Contributed By Annie de Vere On Sunday, May 30, 1999
I would like if possible for any Viet Vet to contact me, I worked for the MIA'S and teh Walking "k" from my hom in England. We watched closely the unfolding drama that was Vietnam, and my heart aches for the treatment the Viet Vets have had at the hands of your own Government. There are lots of reasons for me feeling this way, not the least the fact that all of my family has been enlisted in various branches of the Royal Navy, Royal Airforce and the British Army. I am writing this, because on this Memorial Weekend it appalls me how everyone thinks it a holiday and runs off to have a good time - in England Rememberence Sunday is treat with the utmost respect as are our veterans. I have only been in America 3 months. I am Celtic by birth (a true warrior race) but have been living on the Scottish/English Borders for most of my life. You all did NOTHING wrong, other than answer your countries call.no-one CHOOSES to go to war, war is THRUST upon us. If no-one answers this, at lease my heart is lighter for saying it.peace of mind, love and happiness always
