The Passing of a Vietnam Veteran . . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Thursday, October 28, 1999 Today as I looked thru the Obits I found a fellow Veteran who had passed away.So as I do when local Nam Veteran I went to see the family. When I got there the first thing they asked was what Veterans Group did he and I belong to. My reply was that "HE WAS A VIETNAM VETERANS AND I WAS THERE AS A FELLOW VIETNAM THATS ALL HE HAD TO BE" I've heard that question more times than any other. It kinda makes me mad because "WE ARE A GROUP OF VETERANS WHO LOOKED AFTER EACH OTHER IN NAM AND STILL DO AT HOME" I've been to some where the group that they were life members of never showed up and I was asked to do the service. God Bless all of my fellow "VIETNAM COMBAT VETERANS" we are and still are the best there is. Chaplain Howard Flexer |
