CHARLES EDWARD ALSTON

Michael McCarty
YOU, ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!
Fellow veteran
SGT., E-5, 7th, Infantry, d.m.z., Korea, 68/69.
'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,' from Les Miserables
Oh my friends, my friends forgive me, that I live and you are gone. There's a grief that can't be spoken, there's a pain goes on and on, Phantom faces at the window. Phantom shadows on the floor. Empty chairs at empty tables, where my friends will meet no more. Oh my friends, my friends, don't ask me, what your sacrifice, was for. Empty chairs, at empty tables, where my friends, will sing no more...

Fallen Hero..... Many Thanks
My name is Zachary Weldin and I am in the 8th grade at Woodington Middle School in Kinston, NC. We are taking a field trip to D.C., next week and I wanted to do, some research on a Vietnam War Hero and I picked Charles. He was, so brave and even though, I did not know him, I am very proud of him and his courage. To his family.... Thank you, for having such a brave and honorable son, who so loved his country, that he died for it and all of us. God Bless and he will, not be forgotten.
