Thinking of you today, Uncle James. In June, I will be back in Washington, D.C. and will visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial again, searching for your name. Thank you for your service. You gave the ultimate sacrifice. Never forgotten.

I will never forget you, or the impact you had on my young life. Your memory lives on through those who loved you. When I reconnected with Aunt Emmalyne after almost 40 years, we remembered you together. I wrote this piece for you a few years ago. Never forgotten.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

Jimmy Gay was one of my best friends from 1954 to 1959 in Augusta, Ga., where we both lived on Getzen Drive. I have shown his name on the wall to my children and have asked them to be forever grateful for the sacrifice he and so many others made for his country.

You were a good friend, while I knew you. You really helped me adjust, to everything, while I was, with you. People like you, that helped me, were the ones, that helped me, get home. I will always remember you, for as long, as I live. I hope, we can meet in heaven, some day.
