Mike, I miss you brother! I will never forget the good times we had. I tried to get you off you and Greg went down. I want you to know that your tags went with me to the top. I am proud to have served with such a hero as you and the others. I regret some of the orders I gave, to me it doese mean somthing. Ruk up Trooper and carry on! I love you all and I will never forget any of you!

SGT Michael Lyden, THE BROTHERHOOD OF EAGLES SALUTES YOU. I did not know you, but I do know of the perils you faced and the strength you must have possessed. You stood tall, answered your country's call, and gave all that you had for your brothers and country. You were part of the greatest unit ever, and I'm proud to be of the same Brotherhood that you served with honor and courage. You are not forgotten, nor will you ever be forgotten, as you will remain forever in the memory of every Screaming Eagle that has "Been There and Done That". We will meet again when all Eagles are called home. Continue to stand tall my brother, for you are still in Eagle Country and now soaring with the elite. A Fellow Eagle, 2/506th (Currahee), 101st Airborne, RVN (A Shau Valley & DMZ), '68-'69.

(Pete) I'm still walking you home
I knew Michael as (Pete) He was one of the frist to welcome me to Nam and we were friends I was transfered to HQ Platoon as cpt. Harkins r.t.o. But we still got together during stand downs. It was during one of those stand-downs just before Apachie Snow that Pete said to me, ( and it still haunts me today ) " I'm not gonna make it through the next one". My reply was Bull-shit! I was 19 then , now at 55 I'm still carrying Him down the Hill, And I miss him
